Aqara step up the commitment of issues with additional device support and cross-platform tools

China’s smart home specialist Accra has been one of the biggest proponents of the problem standard in the past few years despite his early success with Zigbee.

It also expanded its support for over 50 substance-compatible devices, and further enhanced the smart home efforts in that matter by making it easier to sing and dancing Aqara devices within other substance platforms.

Starting with new device types and Aqara, we support all of the categories introduced by CSA by CSA. Charger, washer and dryer, refrigerator, cook top, hood and surface, oven and stove, water heater, video player and speaker.

By my calculations – and it is hard to say this properly, as it is almost impossible to track. The most comprehensive backbone of the problem system. Only SmartThings and perhaps home assistants can match or approach points on how many supported device types are.

Additionally, Aqara allows these device types to operate within other ecosystems that do not yet support them through advanced material bridging capabilities.

This feature was originally introduced in the Aqara Hub M3, but is now deployed across the Aqara Matter Hub board, but allows you to transfer automation and triggers from the Aqara Smart Home system to other substance platforms.

So, with these device types in mind, you can create a virtual switch to start a vacuum on the robot and have it as part of your Google Home Matter setup routine.

As you get more advanced you can get recognition and motion triggers from the new Aqara Camera Hub G5 Pro, or act as an initiator for subsequent actions across other material setups, or even have power consumption levels monitored through Aqara’s automation engine.

Aqara is said to call these scenes and signals and appear as virtual plugs and occupancy sensors in Apple Home, Smartthings, Alexa and more.

As mentioned earlier, it is not just the M3 that bridges these extra advanced materials and provides bells and whistles. Camera hub G5 Pro, M100, doorbell camera hub G410, M2, M1S (both E1), E1, camera hub G3 are all involved.

You need to update your firmware to the latest 4.3.4 release and make sure your Aqara app is below 5.1.4.

However, Aqara announced that it will optimize its thread border routers to support thread network sharing, so that’s not the case when it comes to cross-platform problem actions. This means that other ecosystems can join other thread networks, and border routers can also communicate across different LANs.

As I wrote in January when I got back to cheer up, it’s now up to the brand to take advantage of the building blocks that the application layer offers them.

Aqara is clearly on board this mission and when he asked Chris Lapré, the head of technology at CSA, he hoped that Aqara’s move would inspire other brands and enhance the functionality of the issue he said. “That’s a very simple answer… yes.”

CSA needs a brand to accept and deploy problems with its full functionality. It’s still a bit messy and far from the seamless smart home system we all imagined when Project Chip began making headlines a few years ago.

But it helps move like this from Aqara, maintain momentum and drive the platform where it needs it.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
