Apple TV+ has had a big year, with the most watched series of all time, with Jon Hamm taking his biggest drama debut, but the comedy is also on a hot streak, including the latest new series.
Strengthen the lineup of Studio, MurderBot and Apple TV+ comedies
There’s no doubt that two of Apple TV+’s biggest hits this year are dramas: Severance and your friends and neighbors.
But even so, streamers are now hot streaks with their comedy debut.
The studio is considered by many to be the best comedy of the year on any streaming service. It is expected to become a big favorite at this year’s Emmy Awards, and it earned a lot of buzz in its first season run.
Mythic Quest season 4 was a fantastic swan song from a workplace comedy. Although they didn’t get the audience they needed to win the fifth season, it wasn’t a lack of artistic achievement.
MurderBot is another Apple winner, blending sci-fi action with hilarious comedy monologues of the title character played by Alexander Skarsgård.
And this month, Stick premiered as the latest Apple TV+ comedy. So far it looks like another hit.
The stick is a Ted Lasso-shaped Bill Lawrence style comedy
Stick is the first Apple TV+ show to recreate the winning Ted Lasso formula, and has been largely a huge success.
Like Lasso, Stick is more of a drummer than a studio-like laugh-centric series.
It fits nicely alongside Apple’s other “heartfelt” comedies such as lasso and shrink. Both were created by Bill Lawrence. Trying it is another good comparison.
Stick has a completely different creative team, but some of Apple’s most beloved comedies capture many of the pleasant, light yet heavy tones that have been shocked.

Owen Wilson stars as Price Cahill. After the collapse of his marriage, while working at an Indiana sports goods store, Price hedges his bets and is at the forefront of the troubled 17-year-old golfer named Santi (Peter Dager). “Stick” is a heartfelt, pleasant comedy set in a world of discovered family and golf, a world never seen before.
Currently, only a handful of episodes are available. However, critics who watched the entire season proved Stick’s ability to gain viewers. The show also seems to be finding an audience as it has spent a lot of time as an Apple TV+ series that has been viewed in top view since its debut.
Apple TV+ may have built a strong reputation for science fiction and drama, but comedy continues to be a strong point for streamers.
