We all know the feeling you get after dropping your iPhone. Next, imagine dropping your iPhone from the plane. It happened over the summer with conservationist Ashley Plunge.
Prange was filming video from inside a small German aircraft when the iPhone 16 Pro was suddenly pulled out of his hand and out of the plane. It plummeted over 2,600 feet while the aircraft traveled at 110 knots.
She thought it was the end. Still, she found me and saw the last location of my phone deep in the vast woods near my cousin’s house in the Rhine Valley. Her credit card and driver’s license were in the case, so she decided that search was worth trying.
A few hours later, in the middle of a dense forest, she found it. The iPhone was completely unharmed. There were no cracks on the screen. I turned it on without any problems. According to Prange, survival comes down to the Bellroy Wallet Case and Apple’s build quality.
Meanwhile, I can drop an airpod from 3 feet off the ground and almost lose both earphones… an impressive drop test, and what a cool way to have a video of skydiving perspective without jumping!
