Clements believed that Apple was not supporting filmmakers and micromanaging the show.

“I think a lot of platforms support their creators for now, but they don’t do that much, so they may not have the bandwidth that goes deep enough for Apple to do with individual projects.”
Silverman highlights budget approvals that allow the show to shoot at its intended location. Perhaps he thinks that other studios may not approve the cost.
These are not entirely new emotions. Severance’s creative team has stated how Apple is supportive amid the production struggle and delays in Season 2.
Overall, Apple’s reputation in the creative community seems to be in fact very positive among Hollywood players. After five years on Apple TV+, the original rumors about censoring content seem to be proven to be almost wrong.
One notable exception – at least it comes publicly, but John Stewart was involved. Apple reportedly tried to determine a creative direction on AI and China topics, and the show was eventually cancelled.
