Govee’s House of the Dragon collaboration features three fantasy lighting scenes

Govee brings Westeros to your living room with a new collaboration with HBO’s House of the Dragon. We are introducing lighting scenes based on three themes. These are designed to synchronize the atmosphere of your home with a fantasy world of dragons, dynasties, and fire-lit power struggles.

With the arrival of a new season of the show, this partnership adds another pop culture crossover to Govee’s growing list of entertainment partnerships. The company has previously worked with Warner Bros. on lighting scenes for Dune: Part 2 and effects for Disney’s Zootopia 2. But this latest collaboration leans fully into high fantasy spectacle.

The new scene is designed to work best with Govee’s TV backlight series, including TV Backlight 3, 3 Lite, and 3 Pro. These systems use a 4MP dual-camera setup to sample on-screen colors in real-time. As a result, colors are projected onto the surrounding walls, extending the visual experience beyond the TV frame. The result is a more immersive viewing environment. Now the room itself will react to what’s happening on the screen.

For House of the Dragon, Govee and HBO created three different lighting presets. “Dracarys” is built around molten amber and ember tones that evoke the fire and explosive intensity of dragons. “Fire & Blood” takes on deeper crimson and obsidian hues. These reflect the legacy of House Targaryen and its dark political background. “Green Reign” takes a contrasting direction, with shades of green and gold inspired by rival factions and shifting power relationships across Westeros.

All three scenes can be accessed from the Govee Home app and can be applied across compatible devices in the ecosystem, not just your TV’s backlight. In fact, users can switch between them depending on the tone of each episode. Alternatively, you can customize further within a wider range of lighting settings.

To complement the experience, Govee has also added themed interface skins to the app. This ties the lighting controls more closely to the House of the Dragon aesthetic.

This is a small but effective extension of Govee’s strategy. Turning entertainment into an environmental experience, the lighting not only illuminates the room but also reacts to the story unfolding within it.
