talk to deadline Alongside Rhea Seehorn, “Pluribus” creator Vince Gilligan provided an update on the progress of season two. Here’s what he said:
Gilligan shares an update on the status of season 2
A few days ago, Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul) sat down with Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) on Variety’s Actors on Actors series.
At one point, Cranston asked how long it took to film the first season of Pluribus, and a very conflicted Seehorn replied, “10 to 11 months.” Seehorn is similarly cautious about the number of days it took to film each episode.
You can watch the exchange below.
In the video, Seehorn appears unsure about whether to reveal the information, and begins by saying that “people don’t understand” the process by which Gilligan creates episodes of the show, before cutting himself.
That said, Gilligan himself provided some insight into how far along the show’s second season is in development. talk to deadlinehe said:
Well, we’re a little over half way through. The writers and I came up with the episodes, and it’s always tough at first with any season, any show. And just keep doing it long enough. I’m starting to feel like I’m looking forward to filming this and looking forward to people seeing it.
While this update disappointed some viewers who were hoping Season 2 would be further down the line (perhaps Seehorn’s reluctance to talk about Gilligan’s process is justified), fans could at least take comfort in knowing that, for better or worse, he’s in no rush to bring the show back.
The first season of Pluribus aired from November 7 to December 24, 2025, more than three years after it was first announced. At the time, Apple TV originally ordered two seasons.
