Apple will announce watchOS 27 and its Apple Watch improvements at WWDC next week. Here are three new features that are rumored to be announced.
#1: Upgrade to heart rate tracking and hypertension features
Mark Gurman reported that watchOS 27 improves heart rate tracking on the Apple Watch.
Although specific details are unknown, this improvement is expected to be supported on current Apple Watch hardware. There are rumors that the Apple Watch Ultra 4 may come with a number of new health sensors, so it’s possible that Apple will make even more feature improvements for the new hardware.

#2: New modular ultra-like watch face
New versions of watchOS always provide users with new Apple Watch faces. And rumor has it that in watchOS 27, one of these faces will be a “simplified version of the Modular Ultra design.”

It features the same large watch as the Ultra Face, but the large central complication option has been removed and three smaller complications line up above the time and information placed around the bezel. The result is a large clock that takes up the top two-thirds of the display, with three smaller complications lined up below. The move appears to be aimed at bringing a version of the Modular Ultra experience to standard series watches
Modular Ultra is my favorite watch face that Apple makes, and I’ve always wished it was available not only on the Apple Watch Ultra, but also on series models. I’m curious to see what this new face will look like.
#3: Siri improvements
Apple’s new and improved Siri shines brightest in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27. That’s because these platforms come with a complete chatbot-style experience.
However, the new Siri is expected to continue to benefit Apple Watch users in watchOS 27.
It’s unclear whether watchOS will have a standalone Siri app like the iPhone. But perhaps more importantly, Siri will be able to respond to more complex requests and will be more reliable overall than it is today.
What’s new in watchOS 27: Summary
Other than the three features listed above, not much is known about watchOS 27. bloomberg “We’ll mainly focus on stability, performance, and small improvements.” But we’re sure there are still plenty of surprises awaiting us at Apple’s WWDC announcement next week.
