Rode’s new video core streamlines your all-in-one studio

Rode has announced a new product for video producers called the Rodecaster Video Core. Rode calls its new hardware “the ultimate all-in-one content creation tool that seamlessly integrates professional video and audio production into one compact console.”

Features of Rodecaster Video Core

The Rodecaster Video Core costs $599 and has enough hardware to stream and record video content. Supports studio-quality audio with flexible input options. Some of the main features are summarized below.

  • Switch between up to 4 video sources and 5 fully customizable scenes
  • High-performance octa-core CPU video and audio processor
  • Three full HD (1080p) HDMI inputs with automatic frame rate conversion and one configurable HDMI output for program, preview, and multiview viewing
  • Two flexible USB-C ports for connecting your video and audio devices of choice
  • Two studio-grade Neutrik® combo jacks with ultra-low noise, high-gain Revolution Preamps™ capture pristine audio from XLR microphones, instruments, or other audio sources.
  • Powerful APHEX® audio processing including EQ, compressor, noise gate, high-pass filter, de-esser, and legendary Aural Exciter™, Big Bottom™, Compellor™ effects
  • Turn your RØDECaster Pro II or Duo into a modular production hub with RØDECaster Sync and unlock expanded audio and video inputs and outputs.

The Rodecaster Video Core includes dual USB-C audio interfaces for connecting two computers or mobile devices. Video can be captured directly to an external SSD via USB. It also supports network cameras and dual-camera streaming using the Rode Capture app on iPhone or iPad.

New video features across all lines

Additionally, Rode is also updating the firmware for the entire Rodecaster Video series. The new update introduces the following features:

  • EDL Timeline Export: Creators can now export their complete production timeline as an EDL file for DaVinci Resolve, allowing them to seamlessly rebuild their entire production. This preserves editing structure, timing, and clip placement, greatly streamlining your post-production workflow.
  • Compressed UVC Input / MJPEG Support: Expanded webcam compatibility allows for a wider range of USB cameras and devices, allows for both compressed and uncompressed sources, and gives creators more accessible options for video settings.
  • Flexible media import: You can now seamlessly import videos and media in non-standard resolutions and aspect ratios, such as portrait and square. These files are automatically scaled and optimized for smooth integration into any work.
