“Knife Edge: Chasing a Michelin Star” has been renewed for a second season on Apple TV, following a successful eight-part season one. Here’s what you can expect from Season 2.
“Knife Edge” returns with second 8-course service
Apple TV today announced that BAFTA Nominated for Factual Entertainment, Knife Edge: Chasing a Michelin Star, has been renewed for a second season.
The show, hosted by Top Joe’s Jesse Burgess, explores what Apple describes as “the high-stakes world of fine dining with exclusive access throughout the annual Michelin Guide season.”
During its first season, “Knife Edge: Chasing a Michelin Star” moved from New York to Chicago, Sweden, Ireland, Mexico, and more, with each episode depicting the pressures, efforts, and thrills of a restaurant team fighting to chase their first Michelin star or keep the one they already had.
Executive producer Gordon Ramsay said of the show’s relevance and impact:
Restaurants around the world are now under more pressure than ever to not only strive for perfection, but also to survive. The economic fallout for the beleaguered industry means the stakes have never been higher. Set against the backdrop of evolving dietary standards worldwide, “Knife Edge” reveals the stress, pressure, and resilience required to keep one’s nerve in the fight for greatness, and it’s honestly brutal. Personally, I continue to be proud of the passion of our industry – the drive and ambition of the hungry new talent, emerging talent and indomitable chefs who continue to strive for Michelin’s rigorous recognition.
The second season is expected to continue the global chase for “the most prestigious and elusive culinary award.”
According to Apple, Season 2 of “Knife Edge: Chasing a Michelin Star” will also consist of eight episodes. The company also announced that, like the eight-part first season, the second season will be produced by Studio Ramsay Global, with Gordon Ramsay serving as executive producer alongside Lisa Edwards, Lorraine Charker-Phillips and Jill Greenwood.
