Philips launches a number of new smart lighting options

Signify has announced significant new products under the Philips Smart Lighting banner, expanding its WiZ-based ecosystem with five different additions ranging from ambient lighting, LED strips, new table lamps, and physical control switches.

The announcement comes outside of the Philips Hue umbrella, with Philips Smart Lighting running on the WiZ platform and apps rather than Hue’s bridge-dependent infrastructure. This feature reflects the brand’s commitment to more accessible Wi-Fi-connected smart lighting at a lower price point than its flagship series.

The highlight addition is the HDMI Sync Box 2.1. It’s a device that syncs content played through connected smart lights and HDMI sources in real-time, extending the visual output of movies, games, and TV across a larger room instead of limiting it to the screen.

Philips only sells the Sync Box 2.1 as part of a bundle kit that includes a compatible TV backlight strip. There are two configurations covering 55-65 inch TVs for £129.99 and two configurations covering 75-85 inch TVs for £149.99, both of which will be available from June 2026, although the timing may vary slightly depending on your region.

In addition to the Sync Box, the LED strip range has expanded with new gradient floor lamps, light bars, RGB, RGBIC and neon strip variants available in lengths from 3m to 20m depending on region, with UK prices ranging from £23.99 to £79.90 across configurations.

The Squire Light table lamp completes the ambient hardware addition in a compact unit built around a soft wall wash effect for small spaces and will be available in black and white in the UK and Europe from June 2026 for £34.99.

Priced from £59.99 to £84.99 depending on model, the Gradient Bar and Floor Light completes the addition of ambient hardware with lower installation costs and extends multi-coloured lighting across walls and furniture, similar to the existing Hue Gradient range.

Rounding out the launch is the Smart Dial Switch, a £24.99 physical controller that adjusts brightness, color and scenes through tap and rotation inputs as an alternative to app-based control, and is confirmed to be available from June 2026.
