Ecovacs is back with another flagship robot vacuum. This is clearly meant to beat the dirt with its muscles, rather than just glide over stubborn dirt.
The new Deebot X12 OmniCyclone builds on last year’s X11. However, it introduces a standout feature called FocusJet technology, which is designed to tackle tougher stains with deeper, more targeted cleaning performance. Combined with the familiar all-in-one dock. This time, there’s an upgrade to further promote hands-free cleaning.
At the heart of the X12 is a combination of high airflow suction and an improved mop. The new OZMO Roller 3.0 system uses a 27 cm roller mop that automatically and continuously cleans during operation. Cover more floor in one pass while avoiding the “dirty mop” problem that plagued older bots. It also automatically raises and lowers when it detects carpet. So you won’t end up with a wet rug.
Edge cleaning is also an area that is attracting attention. With TruEdge 3.0, the X12 can reach within 1mm of walls and corners. This is about as far as robot vacuums have come to proper manual cleaning today. With the addition of the ZeroTangle 4.0 brush, Ecovacs is clearly trying to solve two of their biggest pain points: missing edges and hair wrap.
The OmniCyclone dock does a lot of the heavy lifting here as well. PureCyclone 2.0 Built-in automatic drain function, hot water mop function, and automatic cleaning system. The system can remain operational for up to 48 days without intervention. In other words, this is truly a “set it and forget it” approach. Continue for at least a month and a half at a time.
The AI smart layer is also growing. X12 uses Ecovacs’ in-house assistant, Agent YIKO 2.0. Create a customized cleaning routine by analyzing your home’s layout and usage habits. This is part of a broader trend where robot vacuums are moving away from routine cleaning to something more adaptive and autonomous.
Other features such as blast suction airflow, adaptive four-wheel drive climbing and an automatic maintenance system round out the clearly high-spec flagship model.
The Deebot X12 OmniCyclone is available in Europe for 1,399 euros. This puts it firmly in premium territory, but with a feature set that tries to justify every cent.
