‘Severance’ season 3 will arrive ‘much sooner’ than last season, according to cast

There was a three-year gap between Seasons 1 and 2 of Apple TV’s popular sci-fi show Severance, but star Adam Scott says Season 3 will be coming “a lot sooner” than that. Here’s what he said and what it means for release timing.

Adam Scott gives an update on when ‘Severance’ season 3 is scheduled

Severance star Adam Scott attended the BAFTA TV Awards last weekend, making history as Apple TV’s The Studio swept the major comedy awards.

In an interview with deadline On the red carpet, Scott confirmed that filming for Season 3 of Severance will begin “soon.” But what he said about the timing of the release is more newsworthy.

Scott was asked if Severance fans can expect a shorter wait for Season 3 than the three-year gap between Seasons 1 and 2.

The actor first said, “Being great is more important than being fast.” But then he came with good news regarding timing.

“We definitely plan to release it much earlier than the last round. Three years is too long.”

Season 2 premiered in January 2025. So another three year gap would mean it would premiere in January 2028.

If Scott is right and Season 3 arrives “much sooner” than its predecessor, we have to assume that means a premiere at least six months earlier.

It Means Severance Season 3 Premiere in mid 2027—or maybe sooner.

Personally, I think it’s very unlikely that it will happen sooner than the middle of next year. And I wouldn’t be surprised if the premiere happens in the fall of 2027.

But at least for now, it’s nice to hear that Severance’s creative team is confident that the gap will be much smaller than last time.
