Apple TV sets world record with Godzilla and Kong drone marketing spectacle

Apple TV’s sci-fi epic Monarch: Legacy of Monsters premiered this week, and as a big marketing spectacle, the streamer organized a drone event featuring the likes of Godzilla and Kong.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters gets a big marketing push from Apple TV

Early last year, Apple TV ramped up its marketing strategy for the Season 2 premiere of Severance.

One particularly memorable stunt featured a Lumon workstation in New York City’s Grand Central Terminal, where “Lumon employees” worked during the day until cast members such as Adam Scott and Britt Lauer later appeared as characters.

Since then, to this day, I haven’t really seen that level of effort from Apple’s marketing team.

Last Friday in Los Angeles, Apple and Legendary hosted a drone show featuring monsters from the upcoming Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2. According to reports, the event set a new world record.

Godzilla, Kong and more appeared in a spectacle featuring 3,000 drones 500 feet in the air. Stars of the show were also in attendance, including Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt Russell.
