CES 2026: What to expect at the Smart Home Show

CES 2026 is just a few weeks away, kicking off in Las Vegas on January 6th, with hundreds of companies unveiling new kit and setting the tone for next year. There’s a lot going on in the upcoming show, but here’s what you can expect.

Better, more complex robots

Robots are being developed at a frightening pace. Last year saw the introduction of robots like the Roborock Saros Z70 that have arms and allow you to choose the mop pad that best suits your environment. Further advances are on the horizon with smart robots that can do more in your home and reach previously unreachable places.

It’s not just about robot vacuums. We’ll see better pool cleaners and smarter robotic lawn mowers that can handle a variety of environments and require less intervention.

We’ll likely see a move towards more common household robots that can assist with multiple tasks.

AI will be everywhere

You can’t escape from AI. Smarter home assistants, easier ways to manage your home, and robots that can do more will all be powered by AI. But we can also expect to see AI in a wider range of products, such as smart appliances that can automatically save you money or wash your clothes more efficiently.

We also expect to see more cameras equipped with AI to better detect and alert on suspicious movement.

AI-powered home energy management systems are expected to further increase the adoption of renewable electricity and help reduce energy costs for homeowners while helping the world transition to cleaner power sources.

A smarter smart home

Smart homes work best when everything is interconnected, and rules allow you to automate your home. Matter is a big shift towards this, but we expect to see even more when it comes to interconnectivity between devices within and outside of enterprise ecosystems.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
