
Apple has announced its annual “Ring in the New Year” challenge for Apple Watch users. A new Apple Watch Activity Challenge is set for January to help you get 2026 off to a good start by closing all three rings for seven days in a row.
Apple says, “Start your year off right and stay active! Earn this award by closing all three activity rings for seven consecutive days in January.” The challenge will run from January 7th to January 31st.
You can complete the challenge on your Apple Watch using any app that records data to your iPhone’s fitness app. These activity challenges are intended to encourage the use of Apple Watch for fitness tracking and serve as a way to guide users to take advantage of the device’s workout features. Apple has held the Ring in the New Year Challenge most years since 2016.
You can also complete the challenge using Apple Fitness+, Apple’s own workout service that offers content in various categories.
