Homey has launched Homey Pro mini, a compact smart home hub that brings the power of Homey Pro to a wider range of users at a more affordable price.
Currently available worldwide for £199, Pro mini is designed to provide full local control, wide compatibility and powerful automation tools in a smaller, more affordable package.
Despite its size, the Homey Pro mini runs the same Homey Pro OS and has access to the full feature suite that longtime Homey users rely on. This includes Flow and Advanced Flow automation, Homey Dashboard, Homey Energy, and a detailed library of both official and community-created apps. Homey says the Pro mini supports devices from over 1,000 brands, making it a strong choice for users looking to integrate different ecosystems without having to juggle multiple hubs.
Additionally, the Homey Pro mini is built around a 1.5 GHz quad-core ARMv8 processor, 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of storage, enough to run about 20 Homey apps. This is more than the average Homey Pro owner uses, and the Pro mini is said to be suitable for most homes. For larger or more complex setups, the full-size Homey Pro offers more headroom with twice the RAM and the ability to run around 60 apps.
Pro mini supports Ethernet, Zigbee, Thread, and Matter out of the box. Also, Z-Wave, Bluetooth LE, 433MHz, and Infrared are not built-in, but can be added via Homey Bridge (€69). This also extends Zigbee coverage through satellite mode.
