Some are already hoping for a sequel, as Apple gears up to release “F1 The Movie,” available to stream on Apple TV. Director Joseph Kosinski also participated. Here is the latest one.
Everyone involved wants a new F1 movie
If you’ve held out to watch F1 The Movie as part of the Apple TV catalog, you still have a few days left. The film is scheduled to premiere on streaming on December 12th, after being available for purchase or rental in August.
But as the movie becomes widely available for streaming, more fans are already wondering if there will be a sequel.
variety When I asked coach Joseph Kosinski about this, he didn’t hold back at all.
Here’s what Tim Cook said: variety When asked about it at the Emmys, he said:
“I don’t know, but it’s definitely been talked about. And it’s a huge summer blockbuster for us, and we’re very proud of it. The talent that went on that show is just next level. And Brad did such a great job in playing it. We’re very proud of it and can’t wait to bring it to service.”
Back to when Kosinski was asked the same question. deadline Last Saturday he said:
“Personally, I would love to see what adventures Sonny Hayes will have going forward (…) I would love to see what happened with the APXGP team and Joshua Pearce and what his career will be. So it would be nice to be able to tell another chapter of that story. It’s something that we’re just starting to dream about and it’s fun to be at this stage of imagining what it could be.”
While it’s not all that surprising that everyone involved is interested in making a sequel to Apple’s biggest blockbuster in history (especially considering Apple’s recent F1 streaming rights deal in the US), it’s still reassuring for fans to hear both Cook and Kosinski speak openly about it.
