Govee is no stranger to bold lighting collaborations, but its latest partnership may be its most unexpected yet.
The smart lighting brand has partnered with Walt Disney Animation Studios to celebrate the upcoming release of Zootopia 2, which opens in theaters on November 26th.
This is the first time the two companies have collaborated and the result is a range of door lighting effects designed to bring a little bit of movie magic straight into your garden.
Rather than launching new hardware, Govee is focusing on what it does best: transforming existing outdoor lighting into vibrant, character-themed experiences that can be triggered directly from the Govee Home app. Families can load exclusive Zootopia 2 light scenes inspired by Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, The Flash and newcomer Gary de Snake and sync them across multiple products using Govee’s SceneStage feature.
That means a series of Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Prisms pulsate in hero blue and bunny pink, while Curtain Lights Pro can animate patterns that look like they came straight out of the neon streets of Zootopia. Put all of this together and you get a backyard light show tailored to the characters in the movie, essentially allowing you to enjoy a mini-premiere night without leaving the house.
For Govee, this collaboration is about tapping into the emotional side of lighting. “Lighting is an expression of joy,” said CEO Eric Wu, noting that the partnership aims to “inspire imagination and foster family bonds.” And there’s something about pairing a film built around color, energy, and visual storytelling with a brand known for injecting personality into outdoor spaces that just feels right.
It’s an unusually cozy crossover, but one that makes sense the moment you imagine a family movie night under a shifting RGB sky, or a festive gathering lit up in Zootopia-themed colors. From garden lights to wall sconces to Christmas string lights, Govee’s outdoor lineup has established the company as the go-to option for those looking for smart lighting that’s as fun as it is functional.
It’s unclear whether this is a one-time tie-up or the start of further animation collaborations. But for now, fans of Govy and Disney can enjoy the playfulness, creativity, and slightly wild lighting upgrades Zootopia hopes to have.
