What’s new on Apple TV this holiday season?

Apple TV has a growing catalog of holiday products available to stream at any time. But this year, viewers will also enjoy two new offerings.

Family Plan 2 is a sequel to the 2023 hit movie, this time set on a European vacation. It’s the premiere Friday, November 21st On Apple TV.

Here’s Apple’s official synopsis and its trailer:

In Family Plans 2, it’s the holiday season and Dan (Mark Wahlberg) is planning the perfect vacation for his wife Jessica (Michelle Monaghan) and their kids to celebrate overseas, until a mysterious figure from his past (Kit Harington) shows up with unfinished business. An international game of cat and mouse unfolds as Dan and his family fight, argue, and bond over a series of bank robberies, holiday shenanigans, and car chases in the scenic European terrain.

“The First Snow of Fraggle Rock” is an all-new holiday special from The Jim Henson Company, featuring music artist Lele Pons.

It will be the premiere Friday, December 5th Watch on Apple TV and join the existing lineup of Fraggle Rock content on the service.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The Fraggles family is looking forward to the first snow and all the traditions it will bring, but the season is thrown into disarray when a single snowflake falls and Gobo is unable to write the annual Christmas song everyone expects. Gobo ventures into the human world, or space as the Fraggles call it, for the first time to find unexpected musical inspiration. And in another first back at the Gorg family’s castle, Junior is overwhelmed by the arrival of baby Gorg, who has joined the family. This holiday season, the Fraggles and Gorgs learn that beautiful moments aren’t always perfect and can be as unique and memorable as a snowflake.

Apple TV’s holiday hits are back, including free offers

Apple has a wide range of holiday products, all of which can be viewed here.

All classic Peanuts holiday specials will be broadcast live on Apple TV. Subscribers can watch year-round, but viewers can also stream for free during limited hours.

My personal favorite Apple TV holiday offering is the 2022 musical comedy film Spirited.

Up-and-coming stars Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell in a modern retelling of Dickens’ novel christmas carol.

Before you think you’ve seen too many takes of Dickens, I highly recommend making room for one more.

Music by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (la la land) was great, the cast was great, and overall it quickly became one of my favorite Christmas movies of the last decade.

Here’s Apple’s synopsis and trailer:

Every Christmas Eve, the Ghost of Christmas Present (Will Ferrell) chooses one dark soul to be converted by a visit from three spirits. But this season, he chose the wrong Scrooge. Clint Briggs (Ryan Reynolds) turns the tables on his ghostly host until the present forces him to reexamine his past, present, and future. For the first time, “A Christmas Carol” is told from the perspective of a ghost in this hilarious musical twist on the classic Dickens tale.

If you like Ted Lasso and don’t hate musicals, another recommendation is “Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas.”

It’s essentially a holiday concert with cameos from Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca from Ted Lasso) and many other Lasso cast members.

There are many more holiday-related TV episodes and specials here.
