The surface of Nest’s new thermostat looks really nice.

Google announced a new set of faces for the Nest Learning Thermostat, giving you the option to turn the controller into a botanical-themed piece of art.

Designed in collaboration with illustrator, animator, and filmmaker Mathilde Rubes, the new face is designed to make the thermostat feel less like a home appliance and more like a living piece of art.

It includes 12 different animations of fruits and flowers and changes monthly to show the changing seasons. The artwork appears when the thermostat senses movement within 20 feet, and changes to display room temperature, target temperature, etc. when you get within 3 feet.

You can download these gorgeous new faces right now, but if you don’t like them, Google has also added a throwback to the classic Nest face, a minimalist face, and a new temperature controller face for those who want to adjust their temperature with minimal fuss.

Starting today, you’ll be able to explore and activate new faces directly from your thermostat’s settings menu.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
