With iOS 18, Apple has introduced a “slow charger” warning to iPhone users that attempt to diagnose or improve the charging speed of their iPhone. Well, the same warning is coming to Watchos 26. Here’s how to find this:
discovered by Macle TumorApple released a new support page this week with new details on Apple Watch charging speeds.
As the documentation explains:
“When using the Watchos 26, if you detect that your Apple Watch can improve your charging experience, you will receive a slow charger message in Settings > Battery. This does not mean there is something wrong with your Apple Watch or the charger.
In the same document, in a section called “How to Charge Your Apple Watch faster,” the company states that if you see a slow charger notification, you should use a high-power USB-C charger and cable, and connect it directly to a power source (not via a hub, computer, or car port) to avoid extreme charging conditions (such as in very high temperature or cold environments).
Specifically, regarding USB hubs, Apple says, “If the charger has multiple ports, or if you charge it with another connected device with a computer or USB hub, the maximum power may be reduced.”
