Apple’s most affordable iPad has AI issues

Apple’s 10th generation iPad is worth a huge $299 (normal $349), especially if you consider the next equivalent display size in the lineup to start at $600. The iPad 10 comes with full-screen design, fun colors, touch ID, USB-C, and an impressive camera. However, there is one feature that customers should consider carefully considering purchasing this model.

Apple Intelligence-Less

Apple updated its iPad Mini last fall, so the iPad 10 is the only model in its lineup that does not support Apple Intelligence. All Mac models sold also support Apple Intelligence.

Apple still sells three iPhones without Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15, iPhone 14 and iPhone SE), so Apple Intelligence is not ubiquitous on all hardware yet. Still, Apple Intelligence Support is a reasonable request for new hardware sold in 2025.

This is because Apple has a self-specified minimum specification of 8GB RAM or more for hardware running Apple Intelligence. For iPhones and iPads, 8GB is a great floor for RAM. This is a resource that allows multitasking without slowing down. At MAC, 16GB RAM is a reasonable floor, and all new Macs are shipped in this volume.

Do you think the iPad sold by Apple doesn’t have 8GB RAM? iPad 10. Since the iPad can multitask in a way that the iPhone can’t, it makes sense to expect more RAM on a tablet than a mobile phone. So it may be worth waiting to see if the modified iPad 11 will be appearing on entry-level iPads on iPad Air under $600.

Do I need to buy an iPad without AI?

Is Apple Intelligence important that you should not buy an iPad 10? Not so yet, the iPad is lifted long enough that Apple Intelligence improves before you need a new iPad. As mentioned before, it’s probably a good idea to have 8GB of RAM on modern iPads.

However, for now, the mystery is whether the 11th generation iPad will work with Apple Intelligence. If not, Apple probably shouldn’t release it until it can make 8GB of RAM affordable.

In this case, you put the money where the mouth is. My son has a worn-out iPad 9 and I want to retire lightning and house buttons from our home. However, even when the upgrade price is low through trade-in, I’m not sure skipping Apple Intelligence would be a good idea for his next iPad. Even simple features like Image Playground and Genmoji seem essential to a basic iPad experience when you spend time.

Do you agree or disagree? Buy an iPad 11 without Apple Intelligence? It’s still too early to judge, but a much better Siri is also worth waiting for Apple Intelligence support. I understand!
