If you saw Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event, you’d have left thinking that the new sleep score feature would be limited to the new Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3. Fortunately, it’s not. Here is the complete compatibility list.
How sleep score works
This feature evaluates sleep based on factors such as duration, consistency in bedtime, frequency and frequency of wake-up, and time spent at each stage of sleep (deep, core, REM).
Once the score is calculated, Apple divides it into categories, comparing each to the user’s average data to make it easier to understand which aspects can be improved.

According to Apple, the new Watchos 26 feature was developed based on sleep data from the Apple Heart and Movement Study over 5 million nights of sleep. It was also known by the major guidance of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the National Sleep Foundation and the World Sleep Association.
Sleep scores are available for these models
If you think that the new features are exclusive to the new Apple Watch model, you are certainly not alone.
But according to Apple, this is the good news:
“The Watchos 26 from Apple Watch Series 6 and later, Watchos 26 from Apple Watch SE (2nd generation) and later, and all Apple Watch Ultra Models run iOS 26 in combination with iPhone 11 and later.”
This means that all WatchOS 26 compatible Apple Watches get features, but owners of older devices may need to know about a new charging schedule to keep the battery running out during the day or at night.
