There was an interesting connection between wireless charging and the iPhone. Android phones were wireless charging very early on, but in 2017 it took Apple years to adopt the regular Qi wireless charging on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. At the time it only charged at 7.5W and was not very efficient. After that, Magsafe and Qi2 Standard have recently been released, allowing iPhones to be charged at 15W. However, he has now won Qi2.2. This is faster, cooler, more efficient, and Kuxiu brings it first. Here’s what you need to know about charging your new X40 Turbo and QI2.2:
I have been a huge fan of Kuxiu’s 3-in-1 charger for years. They are well-made, reliable and offer unbeatable value. For example, if you don’t care about charging speed, the X55 3 in 1 charger is great even if it costs under $30. But again, it’s only charged for 7.5W and we’re here for something faster. This is the brand new X40 Turbo specification.
- QI2.2 25W Fast Charging for Supported Devices
- Charging non-QI2.2 unsupported devices at 15W
- Fast Charging Apple Watch and AirPods
- 25% smaller and slimmer than the original X40 stand
- Do not exceed 40°C to keep it cool and efficient
- Includes USB-C to USB-C braided cable, 45W power brick and hard shell carrying case
This 3-inch wireless charger will check all the boxes you need. It is rated to charge your iPhone 16 Pro from 0 to 80% in just under an hour, and the fact that it comes with a 45W charging brick is amazing. But what exactly is Qi2.2?

Explained old wireless charging and new wireless charging
I wanted to briefly explain the differences, as if I were educated when purchasing the right charger with all these new billing criteria, marketing terms and billing methods. There are three main forms of wireless charging you should know:
- Normal Qi Wireless Charging: All iPhones and later on the iPhone 8 support this type of charging. This is a variety wireless charging mat for your regular garden. It charges at 7.5W and the charger does not need to have a magnet that is QI certified. This continues to work fine for overnight charging, but it takes hours to fully charge your latest iPhone.
- QI2 Wireless Charging: Two things separate this from normal QI charging. First, charging increases from 7.5W to a maximum of 15W. Second, the magnets are integrated into the charger itself for alignment and installation purposes. Qi2 and Magsafe are basically the same on paper, but Magsafe was a standard created by Apple, while Qi2 was a universal standard that all manufacturers could support. But both Qi2 and Magsafe produce the same result: 15W magnetic charging.
- QI2.2 Wireless Charging: This is the latest innovation in wireless charging. The temperature is required to increase the speed to 25W charging and to get certified below 40°C. There is still magnet alignment
So, in short, QI2.2 makes sense for wireless charging to ultimately use daily, and the X40 Turbo is one of the first chargers to support it.

A practical experience
I’ve been testing the X40 Turbo and it’s nothing more than positive. Like I said, I used some Kuxiu chargers, but the first thing that stood out to me about the X40 turbo was its size. It was much smaller, thinner and lighter than its predecessor. Even the carrying case that comes with it is small, making it extremely portable. Made from CNC aluminum, it is extremely premium.
Of course, all I wanted to test was to make sure it didn’t overheat. We tested it using an iPhone 16 Pro, which has a 10% battery. First, from a speed standpoint, I always got a charging speed of 24W. Sometimes it touches 25W, but it returns to 24W. This is absolutely fine. The fact that it was charged at 24W is amazing. About 30 minutes later I touched the charger, which was warmer than ever before, but not hot at all. This is expected when charging wirelessly at this speed, but I was pleased that it wasn’t too hot to touch. Then, in the end, I went from 10% to 80% in under 50 minutes. This is unprecedented when charging your iPhone wirelessly. Overall, I am very pleased with this new Qi2.2 charger and currently has a permanent place in my desk and travel pack. But which iPhones support this?

Which iPhones support QI2.2?
Regarding support, only the iPhone 16 lineup supports 25W QI2.2 charging. The X40 Turbo still charges an older iPhone, but it’s 15W. The new iPhone 17 lineup then also fully supports 25W QI2.2 charging.
Pricing, availability, final thoughts
The X40 Turbo is available now from the Kuxiu site for $79.99. Available in two colors: black and silver. Its price gets 3 in 1 charger, braided cable, 45W charging brick, carrying case, insane value. If you want to get one of the new iPhone 17 phones or currently have an iPhone 16, this is easy. Place your phone on a wireless charger and get the actual charge in just 15 minutes, and you’ll feel very safe. Please tell us what you think. Are you getting a new iPhone 17?
