iPhone 17 ‘Liquid Silicone’ Case Design Shows New Features in Video

The iPhone 17 is just weeks away, and there is growing evidence that Apple is planning new features in its Magsafe case.

Majin Bu shared the video on social media of people who handle what is called “liquid silicon” cases on the iPhone 17 dummy unit.

For context, Liquid Glass is what Apple calls the transparent visual elements of the new design language that comes to IOS 26. The video does not explain the name “liquid silicon,” but it shows a recent rumoured design change.

Earlier this month, two different leakers shared evidence that Apple would add support to attach straps to Apple’s iPhone 17 cases.

The new video shows what looks like a standard silicone iPhone case that could fit the current iPhone 16 design, but there are two holes on each side of the lower end where the strap strap can be attached.

This is similar to the strap attachment slot that Apple integrated into the AirPods Pro 2 case.

Third-party cases may feature integrated straps or straps that make it easier to use your iPhone as a camera, especially if you tend to drop your iPhone while shooting.

For Apple, the company does not sell its own strap attachments for the AirPods Pro. Instead, Apple relies on Incase and more. This is also true for the iPhone 17 Magsafe case lineup.
